Evidence-based medicine projects A number of smaller “evidence-based medicine” projects are currently being funded, including a project relating to shiftwork scheduling and roster design-impact on sleep, performance and physiology, a systematic review and meta-analysis looking at evidence for the effect of ICS/LABA combination therapy during asthma exacerbations, and a review to determine whether treatment with antibiotics influences purulent bronchiectasis.
Recently published systematic reviews Non-invasive ventilation for cystic fibrosis A systematic review of the neurobehavioural and physiological effects of shiftwork systems Asthma exacerbations. 4: Prevention Lung volume reduction surgery for diffuse emphysema Long-acting beta2-agonists for chronic asthma in adults and children where background therapy contains varied or no inhaled corticosteroid Differential effects of maintenance long-acting beta-agonist and inhaled corticosteroid on asthma control and asthma exacerbations Impact of inhaled corticosteroids on cortisol suppression in adults with asthma: A quantitative review Long acting beta-agonists versus theophylline for maintenance treatment of asthma Role of Self-management in preventing asthma exacerbations.
